Barbara "Babs" Vidana Luepke:

First and foremost:

I am a proud member of the Comanche Nation - Numunuu (NUH-MUH-NUH) which means "The People" in our native Comanche language.

I am the great, great grand-daughter of Chief Tabananika (Sound of the Sun or Hears the Sunrise) of the Yamparika (Root-eaters or Yap-eaters) Band.

I am a self-proclaimed HeArtist (an Artist with lots of Heart), and consider myself a Creativity Coach.
Art has always played a role in my life, so I never see myself separate from it. It is as much a part of me, as I am of it. From scribbles to doodles, sketching to drawing, painting to dancing, costuming to clothing, jewelry to aprons, poetry to novels, making my own curtains and wall hangings, strumming guitar to building a canoe paddle bed, creativity has always reflected itself in my life. Each piece of the creation of art is like looking closely at myself in a mirror and watching discovery and transformation take place.
I enjoy various aspects of creating, mixing and crossing art mediums that sometimes bring about out of the norm ideas. I believe these out of the norm ideas challenge us and provide insight to who we are, identifies how art speaks to us, shows us a way to uniquely express ourselves, and most importantly it's FUN! Art journeys lead us to self-insight and reflection that takes place over a lifetime. In this way, it has a healing aspect to it. Getting what is inside of us out of us. Thus, having experienced a lifetime of art in some form, this is a natural progression for me to move from the act of creating things myself to sharing and guiding others in their creativity and providing the space to do so. Your thoughts and emotions play a big part in who and what you are and these thoughts and emotions come alive and speak in a variety of ways when creative outlets are provided.
Thomas Merton, the writer and poet, stated:
"Art enables us to find ourselves and lose ourselves at the same time."
YOU are a work of art. There is no other YOU. So, with that in mind, allow yourself to expand and express what is inside of you. Intuitive. Interpretive. This helps us discover new things about ourselves. It may be letting our inner child out to play (permission granted!), reignite a passion we set aside and intended to revisit with someday or guide to finding our own style.
We tend to put off things because life gets busy and we tell ourselves: "Someday, I will do this or that".
I encourage you to make that someday NOW.
I look forward to being your Creativity Coach creating, experiencing, glowing and growing right along side you."
